Ensuring the product is upgraded to the latest standards for security and performance. Working on all aspects of product development and defining future strategy for a hybrid cloud approach. Helping balance the priorities of development projects to best achieve business requirements efficiently while maintaining product stability.

      • Following a management buy out and consolidation of offices I was part of a new Engineering team responsible for taking over development of a well established on-premise appliance product. I was involved in migrating the management of the product to the new team. During my time as a Software Engineer I was involved in two MVP projects for new cloud services and was responsible for migrating the software build and deployment system to the cloud. Working closely with all areas of the company to ensure the continued enhancement and stability of the appliance product.

      • Founding member of an IT consultancy, providing bespoke software solutions and managed hosting services to SMEs. Responsible for the technological development of the company. I was responsible for planning all hardware and software implementations, as well as taking the role of lead developer. The focus of the company was on providing business class bespoke software solutions. The primaryprojects included a bespoke CMS, CRM, e-commerce platform, cloud document storage,network load balancing and redundant hosting. As well as developing systems I acted as liaison between clients and third party technology providers to assist with integrations.

      • As a DevOps Engineer I was responsible for ensuring a clear line of communication between the systems, support and development teams to ensure stable deployments of new products and features. Ensuring that the appropriate server infrastructure was implemented for new projects and maintaining the continuous integration and delivery pipeline. Worked on a large scale database upgrade project, cloud migration of services between Azure and AWS, operational efficiency and cost saving. Worked with the lead architect to design a proof of concept for the next generation of container based deployment pipeline.

      • Leading a team of system administrators on an estate of hundreds of servers. Working on maintaining the existing network while working on new products and services. Redesigning system architecture to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Dealing with challenges of merging varied technical stacks and data migrations during mergers and acquisitions.

      • Running all technical aspects of a busy web hosting support department and acting as the right hand of the Customer Services Manager. Managing training, reporting, and maintaining award winning support standards. Covering duties of the Customer Services Manager during their absence.
